Title: Idea Fandom: Harry Potter Characters: All four Founders Prompt: #1 Beginnings Word Count: 100 Rating: G Summary: Hey, what a concept. "Accidental magic again!" Godric shook his head in despair. "I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to see why Muggles find their magical offspring unnerving. I wish we could collect them all for a few years and get things sorted out." "Not practical," Salazar said. "For any number of reasons. Before you glare at me, let me point out most wizards quail at the idea of multiple apprentices." "So," Helga said, "we should start a school, but put it somewhere out of the way?" They all stared, and then Rowena kissed her soundly on the cheek. "Helga, you're brilliant." Tags: fanfic, fanfic100, fanfic100 helga, hp fic

Yesterday, I got around to something I've felt like I probably ought to do for a while: I went to be taught CPR. For the sake of efficiency, I signed up for the one that covered adult, child, and infant CPR, as well as how to use an automated external defibrillator and some basic first aid.
My health classes actually did cover quite a bit of it, but I didn't remember most of it enough to do anybody any good. (You're supposed to review it every so often anyway, and my last health class was about twelve years ago.) I know I was introduced to an AED once before, but I'm not sure when.
Hopefully if this ever comes up I will actually remember it at the time.
I think this afternoon I might go visit the animal shelter. We're probably not going to get any pets until we're out of apartments, but the shelter people assured me it's okay to just visit. For all I know this is like bookstores that let you read: they figure enough of the sort of people who would come hang out there will eventually take something home! And, yes, I am knowingly putting myself in the way of temptation. My mind seems to keep angling lately toward things like buying a house, getting a pet, and maybe even having a baby. Er, not all at once, but still. What I should really do first is focus on figuring out my next career step, which will affect how much we're likely to move around the country in the next few years. If I feel compelled to take on new caretaking responsibilities, there's always a nice houseplant.
Visits are still good. Maybe I can be a little less staticky this time. There was this one cat I was trying to pet last time I was there, and I think after stroking his fur a bit I accidentally shocked his ears!
